Although it is thought of as being far away, New York is actually very accessible by plane, with flights there everyday, to each of New York's 3 main international airports, JFK, La Guardia and Newark. Of these, La Guardia is the nearest to Manhattan, being just 9 miles (20-45 minutes) from Midtown Manhattan.

Macy's which is the largest department store in the world is to be found on 34th streetand there are many reasonably priced shops in that vicinity. Classy Saks is the centrepiece of 5th Avenue where there are also lots of designer shops, while Bloomingdales is found on 3rd Avenue
Wining and Dining
Finding a place to eat is never a problem in New York - every other buliding seems to be a Pizza house. Greenwhich Village, Little Italy and Chinatown have great restaurants. You could eat breakfast somewhere different everyday and NY bagels are a must.
